Here you’ll find a simple and safe way to install correctly, ensuring optimal function and durability. Follow our videos and step-by-step instructions to achieve the best installation.
How to install your Shell Catcher
Shell Catcher from WeCatch is easy to mount on your weapon. You can use the included mounting tape or a glue gun for a more durable solution.
Follow the video for step-by-step instructions on proper installation.
IMPORTANT
- Surface cleaning:
Make sure the surface is completely free of oil and dirt before installation. Use alcohol to ensure optimal adhesion of tape and glue. - Heating the mounting surface:
It is crucial to heat the surface before mounting. Use a hairdryer to warm the area until it feels slightly warm to the touch. - Placing the base:
Position the base as high toward the opening as possible, but ensure that the holster can still move freely. - Attachment:
Press the base firmly against the weapon and allow it to cure without attaching the catcher. - Storage:
Always store the unit in the case after use for best protection.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Clean, alcohol, clean, alcohol – this ensures the base sticks properly.
- Use a generous amount of glue for attachment, and wipe off the excess.
- A small piece of strong duct tape can be used to roughen the surface – though often not necessary.
- Recommended glue: Rapid Strong Glue Sticks/ Universal (available at Bauhaus) or similar, suitable for bonding to metal.
- The speed brake is often necessary for optimal catching.
How to use the steel brake
The steel brake is particularly useful when shooting with heavy loads or strong recoil. It helps ensure that the cartridge case doesn’t escape without being caught. Without the speed brake, the following may occur, resulting in the cartridge not being caught:
- The case makes an upward bounce when ejected.
- The case is ejected with such speed that it escapes the catcher.
- If the steel cap of the case is relatively small, it may escape the Shell Catcher at high exit speeds.
IMPORTANT
- Minor adjustments may be needed: Bend the steel as close to the weapon as possible.
- Adjust the height according to the instructions in the video. (Note, it should not sit straight but with a slight downward angle) – To be updated in the video shortly.
